Amazing food – in this central – ski in ski out chalet

I was part of a group booking for a holiday at this hotel. So wasn’t sure what to expect as I hadn’t been involved with the choosing and booking of it.I was sharing a bedroom with a friend and we had a wonderful ensuite twin room with rainforest shower and balcony overlooking the slopes and village. It was a great bedroom with room to both fully unpack and put away our things.The Crychar is a lovely hotel with friendly staff.The hotel bar was cosy with log fire and terrace outside with wooly fleeces for anyone heading outside for cigarette.The Crychar is conveniently located on the side of the main piste into Les Gets and yet is only a five minute walk into the village centre.There is a separate ski entrance into the boot room which was roomy with heated boot rack. But the best thing of all about our stay – was the food. The Crychar food is delicious – out of this world. It was tasty and varied and looked lovely too.We had a vegetarian in our party who does also eat fish so she ended up eating a lot of tasty fish. But the meat was wonderful. The daily cheeseboard was fabulous too. The wine list at the Crychar is enormous but we being a fairly big group stuck to the house wine – which was lovely. A great week. Not the cheapest way of doing a ski holiday – but I’ve never eaten such good food on a ski holiday!Les Gets is very quiet as a resort – great for families perhaps not so good for groups as there is not much après-ski to speak off but with a ski area so big it more than made up for it.
